👽 Web3’s dilemna
The world of technology has witnessed tremendous growth and transformation over the years, with the internet being one of the most significant developments. The next chapter in the technology revolution is the advent of Web3 and blockchain. This emerging technology is widely regarded as the next big thing in the tech world. You might be wondering what Web3 is and why everyone is placing their bets on its future. Let us simplify this for you.
Web3 is essentially a decentralised version of the internet, where users have greater control over their data and are not reliant on centralized intermediaries such as Google, Facebook, and Amazon to access the internet. This new technology is expected to bring about a new era of innovation, where people will be able to interact with each other in a more secure and private way, and businesses will be able to operate in a more transparent and efficient manner. However, despite all these potential benefits, Web3 comes with dilemmas.
One of the biggest dilemmas of Web3 is the tension between regulation and innovation. Web3 is still a nascent technology, and there are many regulatory challenges that need to be addressed, particularly in the areas of data protection, privacy, and security. However, too many regulations can stifle innovation and slow down development.
Scalability can be another major issue facing Web3. The decentralised nature of Web3 can make it difficult to scale to the same level as centralised web systems. Energy consumption of a decentralised web also makes it difficult to scale in an environmentally sustainable manner. Another major one can be related to data privacy and security which involves the sharing and storage of personal data, such as financial transactions and personal identification information. As these systems are decentralised, there is often no central authority responsible for protecting this data, making it vulnerable to breaches and unauthorised access.
If there are too many problems with this new technology, should we say that it has no future? No! We think the potential is huge, and Web3 is already making a mark in the world. As more people become aware of the benefits of Web3, we can expect to see an increase in the number of decentralised applications being developed. This will lead to a more diverse and competitive marketplace, with a greater emphasis on user experience and innovation.
Overall, the future of Web3 looks bright, with the potential to revolutionise the way we interact online and create a more open and equitable internet for all.

“What moves those of genius, what inspires their work, is not new ideas, but their obsession with the idea that what has already been said is still not enough.”
