Welcome to our little corner of the information! We're like the friend who always has an extra snack in their bag for you.
π€ What happened at Airtribe this past week?
π Our ongoing cohort of the Product Management Launchpad learnt tech 101 and systems design from Dhaval, our co-founder. To bring more clarity, Dhaval conducted an extra session. Both sessions were extremely interactive and engaging. Learners understood the difference between relational and non-relational databases, the importance of concise requirements for the engineering team, the need for PMs to understand the database structure to develop useful features and more.
π Aishwarya Shankar, one of our current learners took a community session on how to foster effective collaboration between product and marketing teams. It was a super useful session and shone light upon an essential soft skill that PMs must-have - collaboration.Β
π We had a masterclass on content marketing 101. This was a beginner's guide to successful content marketing by Preethi Verma, Head of Content at Multiplier. The session was super informational and helped participants build solid content strategies.
π Lastly, we had a product management mock interview session with Naggappan Ramasamy, Product Coach and Suraj R M, an experienced product manager. It was a super successful session with a lot of interaction, questions and learnings. We also received great feedback! π

π€¨ Why ambitious people are rare?
Paul Graham believes βAmbitious people need to be around other ambitious peopleβ
Ambitious people are a rare breed.Β
They stand out from the crowd with their drive, determination, and unwavering desire to succeed. They are the ones who dream big and work tirelessly to turn those dreams into reality. But why are they so rare? What sets them apart from the rest of us?
And also, does every ambitious person become successful and happy?
Letβs try to find these answers.
One reason ambitious people are rare may be that ambition requires a certain level of risk-taking. Ambitious people are willing to take chances and step outside of their comfort zones in pursuit of their goals. They are not afraid to fail, and they view setbacks as opportunities to learn and grow. This level of risk-taking can be intimidating for many people, leading them to shy away from pursuing their dreams.
If you are talking about ambition and passion, you canβt miss talking about Steve Jobs. He was known for his immense ambition and drive to push boundaries and innovate in the tech industry. Jobs' relentless pursuit of his goals and his unwavering ambition is a testament to the power of determination and perseverance in achieving success.Β
Another factor that may contribute to the rarity of ambitious people is the amount of effort required to achieve success. Ambition requires a significant amount of hard work, dedication, and sacrifice. It takes years of persistence and determination to achieve the level of success that many ambitious people strive for. This level of effort and commitment can be overwhelming for some, leading them to settle for mediocrity instead of pushing themselves to reach their full potential.
Ambitious people also tend to have a unique mindset. They view the world through a lens of opportunity and possibility, always seeking ways to improve and innovate. They constantly look for ways to challenge themselves and grow, and they refuse to settle for anything less than their best.Β
These are some of the traits of ambitious people. But the question arrives, if they are this rare, does every ambitious person become successful and happy?
The hard truth is that it is not a guarantee of success or happiness. Success and happiness are subjective, and what one person considers successful and happy may not be the same for another. We tried to go back into history and look for some examples where being ambitious did not let people make a significant impact in the world.
Do you remember John DeLorean?
He was a highly ambitious automotive engineer who founded the DeLorean Motor Company and developed the iconic DeLorean sports car. However, despite significant initial hype, the company struggled to sell cars, and it went bankrupt in 1982.Β
Heβs an example of a super-ambitious person who probably wasnβt necessarily happy or successful in the end. Nevertheless, he was still extremely ambitious!
In conclusion, ambitious people are a rare breed who stand out from the crowd with their drive, determination, and willingness to take risks. They have a unique mindset that views the world through a lens of opportunity and possibility, always seeking ways to improve and innovate. However, despite these traits, it is not a guarantee that every ambitious person will become successful and happy.Β
Therefore, it is up to each individual to determine their definition of success and happiness and to pursue their ambitions with realistic expectations and a willingness to learn and adapt.
