🤔 What happened at Airtribe this past week?
👉 Cohort 3 of the Product Management Launchpad had a peer-to-peer mock interview session based on RCA (Root Cause Analysis). They were able to fill in the gaps, learn each other’s techniques and figure out answers together.
👉 We had a masterclass on ‘SQL 101 for Product Managers’ by Pushpak Teja, Product Manager - Strategy, MoEngage. It was a super helpful guide on the necessary concepts of SQL that will help PMs. With multiple sample queries, participants were able to understand real-time and easily.

🤨 Do we really learn from our mistakes?
Mistakes – we all make them. It's one of those universal truths about being human. But do we genuinely learn from our mistakes, or is that just a comforting adage we tell ourselves? Let's dive into this tantalising question and unravel the mystery.
First, let's consider the fact that human beings are wired to learn. Our brains are designed to adapt and change based on our experiences. When we trip up or face a misstep, we're presented with a golden opportunity to grow. Our mistakes can serve as powerful teachers, guiding us towards better decision-making and more successful outcomes in the future.
However, learning from our mistakes isn't a given. It requires mindfulness, reflection, and a willingness to change. If we're too stubborn, defensive, or unwilling to recognise our errors, we'll keep making the same mistakes over and over. But when we acknowledge our blunders and take responsibility, that's when the magic happens.
It's also worth noting that learning from our mistakes can be messy. It's not a linear process, and we might need to make the same mistake several times before the lesson finally clicks. It's essential to be patient with ourselves and accept that growth and change take time.
To make the most of our mistakes, here are some tips for embracing the learning process:
Cultivate self-awareness: By being honest with ourselves about our strengths and weaknesses, we're better equipped to recognise when we've made a mistake and identify what needs to change.
Reflect on your experiences: Take the time to ponder your mistakes, identify patterns, and consider what you could have done differently. Use this insight to make better choices moving forward.
Seek feedback: Don't be afraid to ask others for their perspective on your mistakes. Sometimes an outsider's view can provide valuable insights that we might have missed.
Be open to change: Embrace the idea that growth involves change, and be willing to let go of old habits, beliefs, or behaviours that are holding you back.
Practice self-compassion: Remember that everyone makes mistakes, and it's essential to treat yourself with kindness as you learn and grow.
So, do we really learn from our mistakes? The answer is both yes and no. It ultimately depends on our mindset, our willingness to reflect and adapt, and the time we invest in self-improvement. When we embrace our mistakes as valuable lessons, we can unlock incredible growth and transform our lives for the better.
