He simplifies the four horsemen theory that can hamper a partnership, a team or a culture. He also shares his insights about the antidotes which can help us to get rid of these behaviors and produce results effectively.

Data is a very powerful and essential tool in the quiver of a Product Manager to understand and learn the user behavior, engagement patterns, and pain points of the users using the measure of metrics. Being human, product managers are not exceptions to errors and biases such as unconscious bias.
Unconscious bias is the predisposition to amplify data evidence that confirms a proposed hypothesis while ignoring data that refutes it.
One interesting example of unconscious bias is when YouTube initially launched its video upload app for iOS, between 5% and 10% of videos uploaded by users were upside-down. The team thought it was a technical glitch but turns out, it was designed for right-handed users by an exclusively right-handed developer team. But phones are usually rotated 180 degrees when held in the left hand which leads to this unconscious bias. To get rid of it, PMs have to implement a falsifiable approach where the focus to disprove or explore the flaws in their hypothesis should be more than just collecting data in favor.
✨ Signing off with some wisdom
In 2001, Shery Sandberg was having a conversation with Eric Schmidt, then CEO of Google. She was contemplating about a role there which she was offered. She wasn’t sure if she should take the job.
That’s when Schmidt told her the following:
“If you’re offered a seat on a rocket ship, don’t ask what seat! Just get on.”
When companies are growing quickly and they are having a lot of impact, careers take care of themselves.
